Baby Care
This is the beginning of something beautiful. You have created life. This very important little person is now your responsibility for the rest of your life. It doesn't have to be complicated, just simple. Always remember, everything is temporary and nothing lasts forever. Not even the newborn stage - so make sure you cherish every waking moment because oh boy, it goes by quickly.
Sharing newborn/baby essentials I have loved and used through and through my 2 babies of being a mom
Hatch
From the start of the womb, all babies hear are a white noise sound. That's why the hatch is perfect once they're out of the womb! White noise comes in handy and puts your baby sound to sleep isolating unnecessary noise that may distract them or cause restlessness. The good thing about the hatch is that it connects to your phone so you can control all settings - light color, volume, brightness - straight from it!
Diaper Cream Spatula
Babies are so sensitive and fragile. Using these spatulas in their delicate parts can be gentle on the skin and safe. I have two of these, for the two delicate parts.
Diaper Caddy
This is a great way to organize your diaper essentials. Even if you need to take it anywhere around the house, it comes in handy as it's portable. It even comes with a touch light on the top so if you need to change baby in the night, no need for a bright light to wake them - the light on this caddy does a miraculous job. There are so many compartments to this caddy as well that works great and fits everything you need.
Burp Cloths
You can honestly never have enough of these. I probably have over 3 dozen of them! It's useful for if your feeding your baby and they spit up a lot. I use them to tuck under my baby's chin and boob so if the milk leaks to the side of their mouth, the burp cloth is big and absorbent enough to catch any. It's also helpful when you have to burp your baby, you just place it under their chin or if you're holding them up - on your shoulder - and instead of it falling on your clothes, the burp cloth is there to catch any mess!
Baby Mittens
Who knew babies nails are so sharp fresh out the womb! These come in handy so much when your babies are newborns because they are so fragile and at that stage, you don't want to irritate them with a nail file that can be scary or irritating. I love using these mittens for my babies when they were now born to avoid them from scratching their face and digging it which would leave so many marks.
Baby Nail File
I found this nail file to be gentle and delicate on my babies nails. I didn't start using it until baby was a little over a month and it's super fast and easy to use. It comes with so many heads, you can control the speed and with just one push of a button - your babies nails are taken care of with the right amount of force it needs.
Wipe Warmer
Baby wipe warmer can be such a controversial topic. What works for others, may not work for you. This is definitely one thing that I don't regret spending my money on. My babies absolutely despised cold wipes. Whenever we were on the go or not home and I did not have my wipe warmer in handy, they definitely felt it and was very upset. Once I used my wipe warmer, they never once cried out.
Diaper Dispenser Bags
If I'm being honest, the diaper trash cans were a waste of time. These disposable bags are much more convenient and easier to use. The diaper trash cans fill up way too much and very quickly and it smells so bad. Everytime the cans are open, the smell definitely lingers. With these disposable bags, you can put multiple diapers (I found that I can fit 5 diapers in the bags) in it and tie it up and place it in your own trash. Saves you time and space! Bonus - it does not smell!!!
Baby Owlet
I was very adamant to have the owlet for both my babies. The good thing about this, you can control it from your phone. You just place the dream sock it comes with on the correct feet and it monitors everything you need. The dream sock comes with the age appropriate fitting for your baby so as your baby grows, so does the dream sock. The owlet not only monitors your babies room temperature, but also the humidity and your babies oxygen and heart rate. Every monitored statuses were accurate and very informative. If your babies room is hot or cold it will let you know the room is uncomfortable. Another thing I absolutely loved about the owlet is that it tracked your babies sleep. It was able to monitor when your baby had a light sleep and deep sleep. If your baby is excessively crying, the owlet will lose the monitoring function and won't show any status until your baby is calm again. I used this for both my babies and because I had it for over 4 years, I found it to start giving me connectivity issues with the camera after 3 years. The wire for the camera was always giving me issues and I would have to fix it a certain way just so I can see the camera visual. If I'm being honest, I don't think I will be using the owlet if I was to have any more babies just because of the connectivity issue with the camera, I may use the Nanit - so stay tuned and I will also give my honest opinion on that when that time comes.
Baby Lounger
For me, this baby lounger came in handy so much! If you have to step away from your baby and place them down, this will keep them in place and ensure they do not move. Another good thing about this lounger is that it grows with your baby. When they're a newborn to infant, you tie the lounger to fit your baby. But once they start growing, you untie it so it opens up more and fits your baby to their body. I found this lounger very useful if you have more than one, it definitely keeps your baby safe and out of any harm from others - (yes, toddlers can be wild). Also, it is portable so you can take it anywhere around the house or even if you have to leave the house and you may need it, just take it with you!
Portable Diaper Changing Pad
I got this when I gave birth to my second baby and it was a game changer!! Not only is it comfortable but it's so convenient. I kept this in my car and used it whenever we were out. It has the support, the comfort and the stability. This diaper changing pad made things so easy and my daughter was never upset she had to lay flat on a plastic changing pad for her diaper change.
Extras
Your baby deserves to be in the best products. Brands I trust and love are Cetaphil body wash & shampoo because it's tear free, sensitive skin and fragrance free. Cetaphil lotion for sensitive skin and fragrance free. A+D diaper ointment to help with dry skin and rashes. Desitin to help treat with diaper rash and irritation. Aquaphor helped with any creases my babies had to avoid any dryness, redness or irritation their chubby skin have caused.
