Postpartum

Before you can take care of anyone, make sure to take care of yourself first.

This is the most vulnerable stage of your life. Surviving pregnancy is surviving postpartum. Always remember, if you can't take care of yourself then you can't take care of anyone else. This part of our life is temporary and it won't last forever. Take it easy on yourself, give yourself some grace and let your mind, body and heart heal.

POSTPARTUM DIAPER

Everyone is different. What might work for you, won't work for someone else. After you give birth, the hospital provides you with mesh underwear and maxi pads. If I'm being honest with you, it was the most uncomfortable thing I've ever worn and it did not provide me with that support I needed during that time. That's why with my second baby, I decided to give the discreet underwear a try and let me tell you!!!! It was a life changing experience. I got that support, comfort and confidence in myself that I needed. I don't know how I would ever go through postpartum again without this!

STOOL SOFTENER

It's true what they say. The first poop after giving birth is an absolute nightmare. Trust me when I say, take a stool softener!!! You will not regret it. No one told me about this for my first pregnancy, so I definitely learned my lesson a second time around.

NURSING BRAS

Nursing bras are a huge essential!! For me, I hated having anything tight on me and that's why these nursing bras are so convenient. Not only is it easier to use during postpartum, but it's super comfortable. Your boobs grow so much due to producing milk for your baby, so make sure you get these! The snap on and off strap makes it so easy and convenient to breastfeed your baby.

POSTPARTUM UNDERWEAR

After giving birth, you definitely want something to hold you snug and tight down there and I found these underwear's to be pretty comfortable. Not only do they look good, but they hug you and fit your body perfectly.

NURSING GOWNS

When I gave birth, I did not want to wear much clothes. It made me feel irritated and uncomfortable. That's why these nursing gowns or even shirts are so important! These specifically are easy snap ons so it will make breastfeeding easier.

NURSING PADS

Along with your nursing bras, you're going to need these. TRUST ME! Any little sound from your baby or even a cry - you're leaking. To avoid messing up your bras, these are easy to slip into your bras and catch all that milk that you might leak out! Plus - they're washable!!

HAAKAA

This comes in handy when you're feeding your baby. While your baby is on one boob, you can have this on the other because you will leak from the other side! I also found this convenient when my boobs were engorged and I put this and found a little relief.

RECOVERY KIT

The hospital provides you with a bottle but it was not to my liking. It did not have the spout like this bottle does with the angle to aim correctly when using. The hospital also provides a spray to help with pain or burning so the dermoplast works wonders.

HOT AND COLD BREAST PADS

If you're engorged and need that relief, this hot/cold pad comes in handy!

NIPPLE CREAM

Breastfeeding can be a challenge. Once you get the hang of it, it will be like night and day! But there may be some times where your nipple may get cracks or it will be painful, that's why this cream helps a lot! One thing I like about this nipple cream is that it is super safe! It does not have any taste so baby will not fuss or get upset if you were to put this on.

let me know what helped you during postpartum and what items you recommend!
